My appointment with Wale Internal is always very comfortable & reassuring that my GI concerns are in the best interest of the Doctors that serve me at my scheduled appointments. My doctor was Molly McClroy. Molly is always so welcoming and creates an atmosphere where you feel comfortable in sharing . She is a great listener as well. I always leave at peace and with an assurance that she has my best interest at heart.

I chose this practice years ago because my mother and sister both raved about Dr. Carlson. Now me and my sons are his patients too. He always takes time to listen, doesn't make us feel rushed and is thoughtful with his care even when some of our issues are complex. We are so grateful for his compassion and willingness to help. Also, shout out to Jackson, his medical assistant, who is always responsive and on top of everything. And excellent job for creating and seamlessly transitioning to your new modern facility with onsite lab, for retaining friendly knowledgeable staff, and for bringing aboard more specialists. We love the online chat option for scheduling or messaging with our care team, it is the way to go for immediate responses. We are patients for life, and look forward to many more years of great care and service.

The actual consultation with the physician was wonderful. However, all of the registration staff were on their cell phones. Scheduler printed out paperwork with wrong appointment date and time. Check out staff dismissed my anxiety and told me “it’s ok” when I explained my concerns of being given paperwork with wrong dates and times. Staff who called and left a voicemail asking for a return call didn’t specify why I needed to return a call. Staff who answered was rude. He asked me why I was calling and I told him I had no idea why someone directed me to call back. He put me on hold for an extended period and then hung up on me when I suggested clearer voicemails would prevent phone tag.

I came into the office and was treated so well. The nurse and PA were very compassionate and listened. They escorted me to get labs and expedited scans. They ended up staying late to make sure everything was in place for follow up testing. Great brand new facilities.

My experience is ... 5* doctors, 1* infrastructure. I previously posted 5* for them, but since they moved to the new location, my experience has been 2* at best. I have been going there for over 40 years. I saw Dr Cambell (1980's) and Flescher (1990's-2020's), both of which were great! Both are now retired, so they transferred me to a new doctor for my physical in September. But in spite of 40+ years of seeing them, I am now categorized as a "non-established patient" and denied access to their doctors until September, apparently due to some Procrustean policy on scheduling. They did let me see a PA, who was also excellent. If their scheduling policy was one tenth as good as their doctors, I'd give them nothing but stars.

My health: Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Sjogrens, migraines and then your run of the mill flus and colds and sinus infections. I tell you this because as you can imagine I have seen a lot of doctors in my almost 48 years. Good, bad, rude, well intentioned, but not very good, screen starers, egomaniacs, caring, terrible bedside manner, excellent bedside manner, empathetic and stop-your-whining/dismissive doctors. With all that experience my rating of Wake Internal is right on point at 5 stars.I love this place. I started with a new GP 5-6 years ago. Dr. Jessica Heestand. I cannot even remember who suggested her, but if I could, I would thank them wholeheartedly. She is excellent. When I needed a gastroenterologist, she suggested Dr. Julia Hughes. Then today, I met Dr. C and have found in him a new rheumatologist. (One of the most difficult to find imo) The greatest thing about all of the doctors and specialists I’ve seen has absolutely nothing to do with it slowly becoming my one stop shop. I have only had one other doctor in my lifetime that spends the kind of time WIM doctors do. They listen and ask questions and go through your symptoms with you. They make actual eye contact instead of just looking at their laptops. They’ve never made me feel rushed or like they had to get to the next patient. Their nurses are equally great. They get to know you. Both doctors and nurses get back to you through the portal super fast. Absolutely every time I’ve needed an appointment, they’ve gotten me in. The doctors are all highly rated for a reason. They are good at what they do. I’ve never been to a practice where you never bumped into an ego, but they are just friendly, great drs. To add to the convenience of using Wake Internal, they have a lab and radiology team in the building.While it is substance that matters, their new Blue Ridge Rd office is beautiful with sizable rooms, tons of natural light annd plenty of staff to get you started and help you finish up. Everything about it seems state of the art.
