Infusion Therapy

We have nearly a decade of experience in the infusion of Remicade for patients with Crohn’s disease.

What is Remicade?

Remicade (generic name: infliximab) is a prescription medication that belongs to a class of drugs called tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors. It is a biologic therapy primarily used to treat autoimmune diseases by reducing inflammation and suppressing an overactive immune system.

Common Uses of Remicade in Gastroenterology:

How Remicade Works:

It works by targeting TNF-alpha, a protein in the immune system that causes inflammation. By blocking this protein, Remicade helps reduce inflammation, alleviate symptoms, and slow disease progression.

How Remicade is Administered:

  • It is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion over a two hour period.
  • Typically patients are infused every eight weeks.
