Dr. Hira

Dr. Angela Hira joined Wake Gastroenterology in 2015. 

Dr. Hira is passionate about the connection between the gut and the brain, and values a holistic approach to health. She is committed to patient-centered care, combining evidence-based medicine with compassion to help individuals make confident and informed decisions about their health.

Dr. Hira practices general gastroenterology and hepatology, with special clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), functional gastrointestinal conditions, acid-related disorders, and colorectal cancer screening and prevention. She also offers safe, non-surgical treatment for hemorrhoids.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Hira participates in cutting-edge clinical research that she has brought into her practice. She strongly believes that medicine is always evolving and is dedicated to advancing innovative treatments and diagnostic testing.

Outside of work, Dr. Hira enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.
