We recognize that COVID-19 vaccines are at the top of everyone’s mind and that many individuals are hoping to schedule vaccinations with us. While we are eager to be a vaccine resource for all of our patients, we are at the mercy of the state to receive allocations. We have the staff and resources ready to deliver the vaccine to qualifying patients as quickly as we receive them. However, the state has informed us that their focus is on more extensive mass distribution efforts at this time. This will not impact the distribution of second doses. If you were fortunate enough to receive a first dose, we are assured by the state that the second dose will be available at the same location when you are due to receive it.
Stay informed. Be patient. It may take several weeks or even months to get a vaccine, but you will have an opportunity – either at Wake Internal Medicine or another location in our county or state – to receive one. The moment we receive any news about receiving vaccines, we will notify eligible patients and individuals by email and/or phone when the opportunity to schedule becomes available. We will continue to put in weekly requests in anticipation that this will change. In the meantime, we encourage you to seek other resources to get on a list to receive the vaccine. For more detailed and continuously updated information, go to the NCDHHS website HERE.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept phone calls to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations at this time. Our phone systems are overloaded with requests for vaccination information. We must keep our phone lines clear for people with urgent and acute medical care needs.
Thank you for trusting Wake Internal Medicine for your healthcare needs.
